Terms of Use

Last updated 15 August 2026

These terms govern the use of email accounts issued at leomail.org. By requesting or holding an account you agree to them.

1. Eligibility

Accounts are issued only to sworn law enforcement officers in the United States, including officers who have retired in good standing. Verification is required before an address is issued. Providing false information to obtain an account is grounds for immediate closure.

2. The account is yours alone

An account belongs to the individual officer it was issued to. It may not be shared, sold, transferred, or operated by anyone else. Each officer may hold one account.

3. Not official agency communication

A LEOMAIL address is a personal professional address. It is not an official channel of any agency, it does not create an official record, and it does not replace the email system your department provides. Do not use it in place of a department address where official records are required.

4. Acceptable use

Accounts are for individual professional correspondence. The following are prohibited:

Outbound sending is rate limited. Accounts that trigger sustained delivery complaints may be suspended without notice to protect service for every other officer.

5. Storage

Each account includes 250 MB of storage. Mail may be refused once the limit is reached. Storage limits may be adjusted with notice.

6. Infrastructure

Mail is delivered and stored on third party infrastructure operated by our mail provider. Messages are not end to end encrypted. Treat this service as you would any professional email account.

7. Inactive accounts

Accounts with no sign in activity for 90 days may be closed after notice to the contact address on file.

8. Suspension and closure

Accounts may be suspended or closed for breach of these terms, for misuse, or where required by law. Where practical, notice is sent to the contact address on file.

9. No warranty

The service is provided as is. No guarantee is made of uninterrupted availability or of message delivery. Keep independent copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be announced on this page.
